A Warm Bath Goes a Long Way in Helping you Sleep Soundly
There is nothing worse than suffering from constant fatigue, and you may find that you have tried everything to prevent feeling this way. It can also be frustrating when, as precious as it is, your ability to fall asleep eludes you. Your pattern of sleeping is a vital aspect of preventing you from feeling tired all the time, and being able to fall asleep quickly and easily is very important to be able to get your body into the correct pattern for optimum rest.
Indulging in a warm bath an hour or so before bed will relax you and make you feel drowsy. Do not have the bath immediately before bed, because the warm water will have a stimulating effect on your body temperature. You need to allow time for your body temperature to cool down, whilst still remaining peaceful and relaxed.
A warm bath is extremely beneficial because the warm water will alleviate any tension, or aches and pains. It is good to add as serene an atmosphere as possible, to aid the bath in sending you to a state of restfulness. Some people enjoy lighting candles, or burning incense. Listening to some relaxing music will make the experience even better. There are different aromatherapy oils you could add to your water, to promote relaxation. Some of the best soothing oils are chamomile, hops, lavender, neroli, rose, mint or passion flower. An alternative is to tie some of these in herb form into a bag and then suspend the bag under the hot water tap whilst it is running. Even adding bubble bath can be soothing; it all depends entirely on your preference.
The whole purpose of the bath is to relax you and calm you down, helping you to unwind before bed. If your mind and body is relaxed you will slip into slumber much quicker. Your quality of sleep will also be better because your body is calm. In the long term, establishing good sleeping patterns are essential to prevent you being always tired.
